Feminine is one of two grammatical genders, a type of classification of nouns in Scottish Gaelic. In Gaelic gender determines the form of adjectives, pronouns and articles. Grammatical gender need not correspond to actual gender. Assignment to a Gender classes is largely arbitrary. Even nouns that describe objects that lack an obvious sex or gender get a grammatical gender.
