Relative Future (definition)

A tense that refers to a future action about to occur at a time that is determined by the context of the phrase, and not necessarily the time indicated in the rest of the sentence. For example, “The professor who was about to teach grammar, wrote on the board” “The professor who was about to teach grammar was writing on the board. “The professor who was about to teach grammar was going to write on the board.”
