An auxiliary verb is a verb used in addition to the lexical verb to describe mood, aspect and voice. Examples of auxiliary verbs in English include do, be and has (e.g. he has gone). In Gaelic the most common auxiliary is the verb [[Bi (irregular verb)|bi and all its variants (Bha, tha, bithidh, bhith etc.]
