In English you can list elements conjoined or coordinated using a comma and putting an "and" or "or" at the end:

  • John, Bill, Susan, and Fred

In Gaelic, the conjunction must be put after each conjunct:

  • Ian agus Uilleam agus Susan agus Fred.
