Independent Verb Form (definition)

In Gaelic, the independent Verb Form is the form found in the absence of any particles. For example, in the past tense the verb Bi (irregular verb), is bha. This is the independent form. When the same verb appears with a particle like the negative, we get robh, which is the dependent verb form.
